Every year, the year-end concert is both an emotional as well as a happy time for us. Our K2s are graduating. Some of the children in K2 have been with us for many years, some for only a year. But it does not matter. We see them practically every day. And it is a joy to see them grow, develop and learn. After graduation, they will no longer be coming to our school next year and we will definitely miss them. We have had many fond memories of the K2s and the School sincerely and affectionately wishes them the very best as they go on to Primary School.

Parents, please remember – This Sunday, 10 AM. Come and see your children perform for you in the ABLELAND @ TAMPINES YEAR-END CONCERT 2011.

Exploring the whole Science Centre in one morning is just impossible. The exhibits and gadgets were just too interesting; too many. They succeeded in arousing our innate curiosities and satisfying our natural inquisitiveness. The treat of delicious hotdogs from a very popular hotdog joint effectively stopped our tummies’ growl. Our teachers also want to thank our parents for their participation and help. Mother Nature has ensured that we do not forget the theme of this excursion – WATER; it rained heavily just as we were about to leave the centre. But the rain water did not dilute the fun and knowledge we got from the trip. We will definitely come back for more in the future.

In conjunction with the theme for this term “WATER”, we would like your child and you to join us in an excursion to Science Centre Singapore. Details of the excursion are as follows:

Date : Tuesday, 25 October 2011 (eve of Deepavali)

Time : 9.00am – 12.00noon

Programme:

8.00am – 8.40am Breakfast in school
8.40am – 9.00am Toileting and getting ready to board the bus
9.00am – 10.00am Journey to Science Centre Singapore
10.00am – 11.00am Discovery Zone
11.00am – 12.00noon Journey back to school

Things to take note:
1) All students are to wear Cambridge PE attire with socks and shoes. Please do not wear slippers or sandals.
2) Students will bring along a small backpack with the following items:
a. cap or hat
b. poncho or raincoat
c. water bottle
d. extra set of clothes, diapers and plastic bags (toddlers and N1s only)
3) All toddlers and N1s have to put on a diaper before boarding the bus.
4) Every toddler MUST be accompanied by at least one adult.
5) There will be no refund for cancellation after Friday, 21 October 2011.
6) The coach will leave the Centre at 9.00am sharp for Science Centre Singapore.

The children’s eagerness and anticipation for the field trip were even higher after the postponement, as they know that great fun and excitement awaits. At the park’s playground, every single ounce of their energy was metamorphosed into pure fun – with great efficiency. And in the process, they ran, climbed, walked, balanced, jumped and skipped – under the watchful eyes of the teachers. There is no better way to improve their gross motor skills! They even found time to learn about the trees, leaves, insects and appreciate the beauty that Nature offers. To top it all, they were treated to their all-time favorite – ice-cream! Yet another memorable day, it is….

The Centre is organizing a field trip to Pasir Ris Park in conjunction with the theme for this term “TREES”. We hope you and your child will participate in this field trip. Details of the field trip are as follows:

Time: 9.00am – 11.45am

Programme:

9.20am - 11:20am Activities at Pasir Ris Park (estimated time only)
11.20am – 11.45am Journey back to school
